Auxilium has developed a new oral transmucosal drug delivery system based on technology licensed from Formulation Technologies, Inc.,(d/b/a PharmaForm). We are currently developing three product candidates using this patented technology: a therapy to treat overactive bladder and two product candidates to treat pain. We also have rights to six additional pain products and products for hormone replacement and urologic disease using our transmucosal film delivery system. The basis of this technology is a small film that adheres to the upper gum. We have the exclusive global rights to use this technology platform in therapeutic products that contain hormones or that treat urologic disorders.
