Our company was founded in 1999 on a simple premise: many of the serious health problems that affect men and women as they age can be treated successfully. As a result, Auxilium initially dedicated itself to developing therapies designed to restore lost function and help people live healthier lives, targeting areas that had previously been dismissed as the unavoidable consequences of aging, such as urologic and sexual health, energy, mood, muscle mass, and bone density. Our research painted a very different picture, showing that these conditions are, in many cases, caused by serious and treatable health problems. Our first product, Testim^®1% (testosterone gel), is an example of turning this theory into action.

Today, Auxilium continues to expand upon this dedication by focusing on areas of human health that have been underserved and, in many cases, misunderstood. This expansion includes the development of innovative treatment options to meet unmet medical needs. With a senior management team composed of individuals who have been responsible for dozens of commercially successful pharmaceutical products with other organizations, we believe we have both the perspective and the experience necessary to identify these challenges and meet them.
